Animals in Samoa

Animals living in Samoa are really quite awesome. One important animal living here is the flying fox or fruit bat as some call it. They go sky-high over the Samoan ridgeline. This mega bat is found in Fiji and Samoa. Flying foxes, also know as fruit bats, are one of the more unusual animals in American Samoa, especially for visitors from areas where bats are small and rarely seen. Three species inhabit our islands – two large fruit bats.
Fruit bats are considered the only native mammal in American Samoa thus earning the right to be protected within the National Park of American Samoa. Local folklore casts a dark image on fruit bats, portraying them as sinister and devious creatures with connections to the spirit world. These superstitions undermine their ecological importance to the native tropical rainforest. Fruit bats help transfer pollen from one tree to another.

ANZAC Poem

Down in the trenches, dark and dull,
When you are being bombed, it's like you need a spell,
When you think about your family at home, there is no time to be sad,
Because you are fighting for your country, while knowing that soon your lives will end.
Lest we forget.

100 word story

Hi there everyone, I am Charlotte and I am really good at soccer

Things that are special to me

For homework this week we had to take a picture of something special to us at home.
We have to explain why it is special to us.
I have chosen this picture because I have always loved my dog called Tui. She is called Tui because there is a little white strip under her chin like a Tui!
We got Tui in October 2012 so she is now 3 years old but still always as fluffy as she used to be.
Tui is special to me because I have always loved animals and dogs are my favourite!

Waimarie Hospital

On Friday we went to the Waimarie hospital and met the elderly people. This is how it went.

When we got to school, we did the roll as usual and lined up. Then when Miss Cooper chose our buddies we got a box or a bottle of baking and a piece of lavender.

After we had crossed the school pedestrian crossing we started to walk up the hill.  Soon we arrived at the Waimarie hospital.

Then we went in groups up the elevator into a waiting room. Soon after that we got to go outside to meet the residents and give then a little bunch of rosemary with a ribbon. Some of us were shy to meet the residents but Freya and I went together to talk to a lady called Noel.

It was time to share our lovely baking with them and we got some ourselves! Then we had to say goodbye and some people were giving out lemon ribina gifts that we had made in class.

Sadly it was now time to go home. We were very lucky and we got a little bag of goddies to say thank you.

A-Z Paragraph

I am an active girl who hates Brussel sprouts and Cauliflower but loves puppies and dogs except the dogs that fight and growl horribly at me. In case you were wondering, I am jolly keen on lovely midwinter netball that is played outside with 7 players. I am quite responsibleand really good at soccer.  Throughout the 9 years of my life I would have usually been very willing to play the xylophone at the zoo if anybody had asked me to.

The Bridge

My name is Bee.  I am a Raccoon, people say that it is unusual to call a Raccoon another animal but I don't care. It was my mum who originally named me Bee. She and my dad got stuck in a fire and got badly burned when I was very little. Now I am stuck with my horrible aunt and uncle until they can find a nanny. Aunt Fiona and Uncle Grey treat me like a squirrel. If you are a Raccoon it is very offensive to be treated like a squirrel. My friend Buzz and I hatched a plan. It was to secretly go with Uncle Grey to the shopping center and see where he ACTUALLY went. Uncle Grey was NOT interested in shopping at all. DAM ITTTTT. he was going shopping because he got on the bridge to go strait to the shopping center. On the way to the  and that was the end of my uncle and aunt!!

Cyberbullying

One day, in a far-away land called Loopsy-land, where the very famous pig school stood, there was two school friends called Olivia and Hannah. These two besties do everything together. They play together, they eat lunch together, they go home together, they even ring each other up to brush thier teeth at exactly 7:00 and finish at exactly 7:03. Then they go to bed at exactly 8:00 to wake up all fresh at 7:00 the next morning to eat thier breakfast out of the ready-made troff that thier mothers’ have prepared for them.

Olivia and Hannah were also in the same class with some other girls. These girls were called Beth, Madison, Eve, Sivan, and Izzy. These girls all wandered around in a little group at lunch-break. Izzy was also a strait A student in art class. She was onto a new canvas at this time and to get the most amazing capture she had to pace the camera on video to capture anything exiting.

Today Izzy was focusing on sunsets and cool-looking clouds. Izzy placed her camera on the bench in front of the toillets and tilted it up towards the sky. Meanwhile, Olivia and Hannah were skipping along. Olivia just needed to go to the toilet quickly so and she asked Hannah to come with her and hold the door closed for her (this was after they both found out that the only bathroom stall left was the one with the broken lock.).

Suddenly a soccer ball came out of nowhere and hit Izzy’s camera causing it to tilt down to face the bathrooms and  TRAGITY: the ball kept going and hit Hannah in the face and knoked her down causing her to let go of the door she was holding and letting the door swing right open.

Later that afternoon, Izzy came back to see that there was a video of Olivia in the bathroom. Izzy thought this was halairious and shared it with all her friends by text who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto thier friends, who fowarded it onto Olivia and Hannah (who of course, shared e-mail adresses and texts) and were very upset about it all. They immidiately showed it to thier mum’s and dad’s who got the police, prinstable and thier teacher into it.

One thing to remember: If you ever do something like what Izzy and her friends did to Olivia and Hannah, you will always get into some sort of trouble!

The Three Little Puppies

Clock Tower Writing

Clock Tower Writing

Once upon a time the official government and the prime minister of England decided that there needed to be a new clock tower girl to work in the old clock tower standing in the middle of the town.

The clock tower lady that the town was using before, she was due to have a baby! It was so exiting because nobody, (even the government and the prime minister) knew when the baby was going to be born! But the upsetting news for the government was that they did not know if the baby was going to be a little boy or a little girl. Even so, the old clock tower lady promised to write a note to the government and the prime minister when the baby was born telling them if the baby was a boy or a girl.

The upsetting news was if it was a boy he would have to go all the way to America to start his training camp for being a clock tower boy for London! That was surely not what his mother wanted.

Suddenly there came a big noise.  ATTENTION! The guard blew his whistle and all of the government men rushed outside leaving a big clutter of suits and ties behind. A note had arrived! It was from the old clock tower lady!
This is what it said:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am proud to have just had a tiny little girl at 10:18 on Wednesday 3rd June.
I would be happy for you to see her in a few days.
She has blonde hair and the midwife thinks she would be an amazing clock tower girl for England.

Kind Regards,

The old clock tower lady.

Everyone suddenly became unaware that they were on camera and started jumping around with joy. IT WAS A LITTLE GIRL! Everyone was so exited. The old clock tower would be working again. The last time the clock tower was going was a whole 20 years ago!

The very next day they found out the name of this beautiful girl! Her name was Charlotte. In a few years time she would be ready to start her training camp for being the England clock tower girl. But whatever the government said about starting a clock tower training camp when she was 7, she demanded to start it at 5!

Charlotte loved her clock tower training camp and she was quite awesome at it, lots of people got to know that she was awesome at it and she got messages from, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, India, Korea China, Malaysia, Japan, Scotland, and even New Zealand telling her that she needed to be their clock tower girl. But Charlotte ignored this and decided to stay in England.

So Whatever the weather, Charlotte was found in the old clock tower making the clock go to 6 in the morning and back to 6 again at night.

Terrier, Non-Sporting, and Herding. Miss P (the winner of the show) received the purple and

Writing Goal Reflection

My writing goal is to use my ideas and planning to make a story because I usually don't write enough.
I have improved in this goal heaps because in my writing test I had an  hour and I wrote 6 pages.

For the Birds

One day, one blue squabble-squabble bird came to land on the thin black power-line. Blue squabble-squabble birds were enemies to the blue perky-pot birds. Perky-pot birds are much bigger than squabble-squabble birds so you needed more than one squabble-squabble bird to fight just one perky-pot bird.

Now, this squabble-squabble bird’s name was Bob. Bob was soon joined by Steve, then Nom-Nom, then Bubble Gum, then Goofy, then Piglet, then Pom-Pom, who was Nom-Nom’s sister, then Gummy bear, then finally, Goggle. Goggle was the oldest of all the blue squabble-squabble children that Polly-Puffs (their mother) had had.

Now, all the squabble-squabble birds were sitting on the line and squabbling. In squabble-squabble land, squabbling was normal.

Suddenly all the squabble-squabble birds stopped squabbling and looked around. To all their surprises, a Porky-pot bird had just said hi to them in a very friendly way. They all stared at the Perky-pot bird. Suddenly Pom-Pom made a face at the Perky-pot bird. The Perky-pot bird made a face back to all the squabble-squabble birds!
Soon all the squabble-squabble birds were making faces at the Poky-pot bird. The Poky-pot bird came down and sat on the thin power line making all the squabble-squabble birds went sliding down the power line being squashed up to the Poky-pot bird. The squabble-squabble birds did not like it at all.

Suddenly the Poky-pot bird fell down off the powerline because all at the same time, the blue squabble-squabble were poking around at the Poky-pot bird so eventually the Poky-pot bird fell down to the ground and ran off leaving a mound of blue squabble-squabble feathers and 9 naked squabble-squabble birds on the ground looking intrigued.
